Lærer ved Visuell kunst stiller ut i New York

Høyskolelektor Sabina Jacobsson er en av ti kunstnere på utstillingen PARALLAX VIEWS ved .no.

Utstillingen er kurert av Kóan Jeff Baysa og tar utgangspunkt i terrorhandlingene 22.juli.

"BOXING MEMORIES is a 54 minutes video made this year in Norway. It´s about two Brazilian men discussing why Norway is such a difficult country for immigrants.The title "Boxing Memories" is taken from one of the men talking about that he has left all his memories back home and cannot find a place for them here. Noone is interested in his past or his life experience. Not the state nor the people he´s surrounded with, which makes him such a nobody. But the fact is that he is a well known choreographer/producer/former dancer in Brazile. I´ve worked with a handheld camera so the images makes you feel present in the discussion. I´ve mixed the interviews with actions in the winter landscape of Norway. One of the challenges for immigrants is to understand the nordic winter."
